Malmesbury Abbey is well worth a visit, as is the outstanding Georgian Gothic Parish Church of Tetbury, and Chavenage House, setting for many scenes of Poldark.

Our nearest large town is Cirencester, heart of Roman England. Bath, with its recently renovated thermal baths, Bristol, home of Brunel's SS Great Britain, Cheltenham with it’s racecourse and Gloucester, are all within easy driving distance, as is Swindon, with the famous Outlet Shopping Centre.

Shipton Moyne is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with easy walking distance from the village. There is access from us to the Fosse Way and the Cotswold Way. Westonbirt Arboretum is a couple of miles away, so too is the Beaufort Polo Club. Day trips include Warwick Castle, Longleat House and Park, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Bowood. Gatcombe and Badminton Horse trials are also within easy reach of our cottage.
